Carol’s Home Delights sells cushions, memory boards, quilts and more handcrafted by Carol Street in her East London home.
After Carol took a sewing course in 2015 she started making curtains and cushions for her loved ones. She recalls: “The home furnishings really got me bugged.”
Her grandchildren are big fans of her pocket cushions that have an in-built pocket to tidy away books or games console controllers and toys while keeping them close to hand.
Since setting up Carol’s Home Delights, Carol loves sewing even more: “It gives me something to do, it gets me out and I’ve met some lovely ladies, everyone’s friendly. I think it’s going to be the best thing I’ve done.”
Carol buys her fabrics from a shop in Lewisham called Rolls and Reems. She accepts commissions.
